GraFx Studio Connector - Dataconnector

Overview

The Chili Data Connector module seamlessly connects your Magento store with GraFx Studio & Publisher, empowering you to manage and utilize your data effectively. This extension allows for the sophisticated management of data compilations and data specifications directly within Magento. It features both backend and frontend interfaces for a comprehensive data editing, display, and management experience.

Use Cases

This module is designed to handle various data workflow scenarios, whether you are using external data sources or creating data from scratch.

Scenario 1: Using an External Data Source

Connect to an external data source (in Chili XML or flat JSON format), allow users to select specific data rows, and save them as a local data compilation. This compilation can then be used to generate outputs in GraFx Studio & Publisher.

Scenario 2: Manual Data Creation

When no external data source is available, users can manually create data rows using the frontend "Datachooser" interface. This data is then stored as a local data compilation for later use in generating outputs.

Details

Local Data Compilations

Data selected or created by users is stored locally in Magento as a data compilation. These compilations can be managed from the user account section on the frontend and can be re-loaded into compatible GraFx Studio documents.

Connect to multiple remote data source formats, including flat JSON and Chili's XML format.

Connecting to GraFx Studio

To integrate the module with your GraFx Studio environment, follow these steps.

1. Environment Setup

First, install and publish the GenericJsonDataConnector from enobis to your GraFx environment.

Publish the Connector:

npx connector-cli publish -e [your_environment] -b https://[your_environment].chili-publish.online/grafx -n GenericJsonDataConnector --proxyOption.allowedDomains "my.api.mockaroo.com,*.enobis.de,[your-magento-domain.com]"

This command will return the ID and name of the published connector, for example: {"id":"57d3caba-dc13-482d-b26f-09866733e861","name":"GenericJsonDataConnector"}

Authenticate the Connector:

Next, use the connectorId from the previous step to set up authentication.

2. Document Setup

In your GraFx Studio template, configure the document to use the data connector.

  1. Select "GenericJsonDataConnector" as the data connector for your template.
  2. In the connector settings, provide the API URL from your Magento installation:
    • API-URL: [Your Magento URL]/chilidataconnector/download/json
  3. Create two variables in your document with the type "string":
    • api_key
    • api_timestamp
  4. Map these variables to the API-Key and API-Timestamp settings of the connector, respectively.
  5. It is recommended to hide these variables in the user interface, as they are used for technical purposes only.

Datachooser Grid

Local Data Compilations

Users can store their selected data in local data compilations. Data compilations can be managed from the user account and can be re-loaded into compatible documents.

Setup

Magento Setup

Install the GraFx Studio Datachooser and create a dataspecification. The datachooser stores data in datacompilations and returns the data in a json-Format at [Your URL]/chilidataconnector/download/json.

Environment Setup

Install the "GenericJsonDataConnector" from enobis in your the environment of your choice and activate it.

Publish the connector to the environment

npx connector-cli publish -e [your_environment] -b https://[your environemnt]].chili-publish.online/grafx -n GenericJsonDataConnector --proxyOption.allowedDomains my.api.mockaroo.com *.enobis.de [etc.]

Returns e.g {"id":"57d3caba-dc13-482d-b26f-09866733e861","name":"GenericJsonDataConnector"}

Authenticate your connector

Document Setup

Choose Data Connector "GenericJsonDataConnector" in your template and complete the connector setup with:

API-URL: [Your URL]/chilidataconnector/download/json

Create api_key and api_timpestamp variable as string and map them to the API-Key and API-Timestamp setting of the connector. Hide them in the interface - they are only necessary for technical reasons.

The module supports two primary formats for remote data sources.

Flat JSON Format

The JSON data must be an array of flat objects.

Our extensions are not available via the magento-marketplace or packagist.org! The extensions are only available via a (private) repository!
